Finance Clerk

The Finance Clerk will support various financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general administrative tasks. While reporting to the Finance Reporting Manager, the ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, asset accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain financial record systems in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and provide variance reports.
  • Implement internal controls and auditing procedures to protect organizational assets.
  • Supervise accounts payable processes to manage cash disbursements effectively.
  • Prepare and file periodic financial statements for executive review.
  • Gather, analyze, and report key statistics using information systems.
  • Provide input for strategic financial planning to enhance fiscal viability.
  • Support CFO in preparing the annual Medicare cost report.
  • Handle preparation and filing of federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Manage payroll practices ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
  • Utilize office supplies and equipment efficiently.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in financial reporting procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.
  • Adhere to the organization's dress code and professional standards.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English. 

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. 
  • Prior experience in a finance or accounting role is desirable but not required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and public relations abilities.
